The innovative and growing Asset Management of a major Swiss Bank suffered from a fragmented legacy system landscape which induced high IT cost, high Business run-the-bank cost, inconsistent data, significant operational risk and limitations regarding scalability.

The system landscape was completely renewed by implementing BlackRock Aladdin as an integrated, state of the art SaaS solution supporting the front-to-back processes in the following areas:

  • Portfolio analytics and optimization functions to manage active and passive strategies in funds and discretionary mandates for Equities, Fixed Income, Multi Asset Classes and Overlay products
  • Cash management
  • Risk analytics and reporting
  • Pre- and post-trade compliance
  • Trade execution via direct Broker connections as well as multilateral trading facilities
  • Trade confirmation, settlement, collateral management and corporate action processing
  • Cash and position reconciliation
  • Security and benchmark data sourcing
  • Performance attribution and interfaces to client reporting and regulatory reporting

The roll-out happened at the same time in CH and APAC and included a “de-coupling” of direct interfaces to the Host applications of internal counterparties (e.g. custodian, fund administrator, Broker) by switching the communication to standard protocols (e.g. FIX, SWIFT).
